European Capitals of Inclusion and Diversity Award 2025: Shortlist announced!
Brussels, 24 March 2025 - almost 60 towns, cities and regions from 15 Member States applied to the fourth edition of the European Capitals of Inclusion and Diversity Award. 20 of them made it to the final round.

Now in its fourth edition, the Award recognises cities, towns, and regions that are leading the way in creating more inclusive societies for all, regardless of gender, racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age, or sexual orientation. It celebrates the outstanding efforts of local authorities across Europe in fostering inclusion and diversity for all.
Following a competitive selection process, the following finalists have been shortlisted in three categories:

- Kraków, Poland
- Ville de Paris, France
- Salzburg, Austria
- Tilburg, The Netherlands
- Utrecht, The Netherlands

Category: Local authorities below 50,000 inhabitants
- L’Alfàs del Pi, Spain
- Francavilla Fontana, Italy
- Gualdo Tadino, Italy
- Mariehamn, Finland
- Parada de Sil, Spain
- Platanias, Greece
- San Xoán de Río, Spain
- Settimo Torinese, Italy
- Sogliano al Rubicone, Italy
- Usurbil, Spain
2025 Specific Award for inclusive housing
- Braga, Portugal
- Francavilla Fontana, Italy
- Gualdo Tadino, Italy

- Salzburg, Austria
- San Xoán de Río, Spain
- Usurbil, Spain
- Zaragoza, Spain
The finalists have been recognised for their innovative and impactful policies that promote equality and a sense of belonging for all. They will now go through a final round of evaluation to claim gold, silver and bronze awards.
The winners will be unveiled at an official Award ceremony on 29 April 2025 in Brussels. The high-level event will gather mayors, national officials, diversity and inclusion enthusiasts and policymakers. Media representatives are invited to attend the ceremony, which will be organised together with the opening of the European Diversity Month.
